Daniel Mauch. Not much is known about the detailed background of the artist. But he is the father of the eponymous late humanists in the Netherlands. Inside the Ulm school, which has multiple relationships within the families of artists. In the documents of Ulm Daniel Mauch is listed in 1508 for the first time. In 1531 made his presence felt in iconoclasm. Daniel Mauch died in 1540 in Liege.

Saint Anne is the mother of the Virgin Mary and therefore the grandmother of Jesus in the Christian tradition and in the tradition Muslim by the name of Hannah .

The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne

The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne polychrome oak is quite characteristic of the late Gothic sculpture of the Rhine, including the works of artists who have worked in the entourage of Henrik Douvermann (1490-1543) and Dries Holthuys. The latter, less known, was active in the city of Cleves in the late fifteenth and early sixteenth century. The soft oval faces a pointed nose, almond eyes finely drawn, treatment of deep triangular folds of clothing emphasizing the swaying of the body and the shaped end of the hair can be recognized in this group's influence Holthuys, including a Virgin and Child with St. Anne, dating to 1480-1500, is conserved in the museum of Cleves.

Saint Jerome (347 – 30 September 420) was a Latin Christian priest, confessor, theologian and historian, who also became a Doctor of the Church. He was the son of Eusebius, born at Stridon, a village of Italian influence on the border of Dalmatia and Pannonia. He is best known for his translation of most of the Bible into Latin (the translation that became known as the Vulgate), and his commentaries on the Gospels.
