The hippocampus or hippocamp, often called a sea-horse in English, is a mythological creature shared by Phoenician, Etruscan, Pictish, Roman and Greek mythology, though its name has a Greek origin. The hippocampus has typically been depicted as having the upper body of a horse with the lower body of a fish. More on Seahorses

Ragnhild Nordensten, born August 6, 1888 in Striberg  near Nora, died June 7, 1951 in Stockholm , was a Swedish painter, graphic artist and illustrator.

Nordensten was educated at the Technical School in 1907, Althin's painting school in 1908 and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts 1908-12, all in Stockholm. She finished with the etching school at Axel Tallberg in 1913.

She worked especially with motifs from mines and heavy industry, such as ironworks, gasworks, construction sites and machine halls. A lot of her work is from rock type environments . She became known for large etchings, and series of etchings were made from Striberg and Grängesberg, which in terms of expressiveness were pioneering works in terms of industrial motifs. In 1929, a suite was made from Sandviken's ironworks. More on Ragnhild Nordensten
