The face of Christ imprinted on a cloth, the latter supported by two angels. Painted traditionally with sombre colours. The wings of the angels in gold. The Mandylia belong to the group of acheiropoieta (Greek "not created by human hands"), a group of icons which were created or emerged in miraculous ways. Slightly restored. 54.5 x 44 cm.
